Healthy Mobility aims to provide supervised, small group exercise classes that are safe and deliver health benefits to people with chronic health conditions and individuals who would like guidance from qualified physiotherapists and a Pilates instructor.
Healthy Mobility runs specific classes tailored to suit people with chronic health conditions and implements evidence based practice to maximise the therapeutic effects of exercise intervention.
High quality scientific research supports the use of exercise as a safe and effective intervention to:
-
prevent the development of chronic health conditions (for example osteoporosis, chronic low back pain, heart disease) and
-
to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life in people that have been diagnosed with certain chronic health conditions (such as heart disease, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, chronic pulmonary disease).

Falls prevention:
Falls have a serious impact on individuals and our society: Injuries related to falls are one of the leading causes of illness and death in older people. Approximatley 1 in 3 people over 65 and 1 in 2 people over 85 fall each year which greatly impacts on the rising cost of health care. Falls are one of the major factors leading to admission into aged care facilities.
What can be done? There is an abundance of scientific research demonstrating balance and resistance exercise greatly reduces falls risk no matter how old you are.
Our Classes: At healthy mobility we provide an exercise class that is safe and fun that aims to improve your balance and increase your lower limb strength to reduce your risk of falling and thus reduce your chance of injury and hospitalisation.
